CGA Architects was formed over 10 years ago by Chris Goodsall, a former member of Quattro Design Architects. In 2024 WBC Group merged with CGA. The merger brought together a wealth of experience and expertise in the field of architecture, engineering & surveying.

Initial Meeting

Technical Design & Building Regulations Approval
CGA architects will usually start this stage by drawing up a set of comprehensive technical drawings for building regulations approval thesed can then further be developed to construction detail drawings where required. These are then used for our architects in Bristol to liaise with the structural engineer, external approval bodies such as Wesex Water and outside consultants such as a Party Wall Surveyors. Culminating in all the technical approvals and main design items for a contractor to proceed and accurately quote for your project.

Feasibility & Planning
Our comprehensive services begin with an in-house measured survey, ensuring accurate data collection for your project, we can also utilize 3d data capture where required. Our architects and technologists conduct a thorough feasibility study to assess the viability of your ideas, followed by detailed sketch and scheme design to bring your vision to life. We collaborate with external quantity surveyors to provide expert advice on cost management and budgeting. Our Architects then expertly manage the project through local authority planning for a smooth approval process utilising our years of planning experience.

Construction Management & Principal Designer Roles
It is an option with our architects and architectural technologists to get help and advice throughout the construction stage. This would usually involve the refining of the design to include a specification of works, helping to tender the project to contractors and a tender analysis. Once agreed, appointment of the contractor under a JCT contract. Our Architects can then administer the project as contract administrator whilst holding the roles as CDM and BSA principal designer. Our architects advice and support can be invaluable in the construction stage. To control cost, reduce stress and provide the best finish for your project
